In 2018, during my time at Carpenter Elementary School, I was nominated as a potential recipient from the school for the Cary, NC Chamber of Commerce's :Honor A Teacher" Award. I was chosen by the parent of one of the school's students, even though I was not a teacher in the school. (I didn't win, but as they say, "It's an honor just to be nominated!")
